For the past couple of weeks, I have made cards for the Atlantic Hearts challenges. But I just never managed to post them so I could enter them. I know this is last minute but I want to get this done.
I have a lot of summer birthdays in my family. I made this card for my sister. I used this week's Atlantic Hearts sketch #117 for inspiration and will be entering it for the challenge.
Here is my version:
I used plain white cardstock as the card base. Then I used sponges to dab all different colors all over. There is probably a name for this technique out there somewhere, but I was just playing around trying to get a tie-dye look and this is how it turned out.
The hexagon overlay is from the CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge. All of the inks are also CTMH. Cardstock is Recollections from Michaels. And finally the sentiment is an old woodblock stamp from my hoard collection.
Very very pretty! Love the look you've created.. thanks for playing along at Atlantic Hearts!
ReplyDeleteAwesome I really like the simplicity of the overlay against that gorgeous background. Way to go! Thanks for playing along with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC)!

I love your "tie dye" method! It is an easy way to combine the colors you want and turn white into fabulous! I thought of the hexagon overlay too! Glad you went there! Thanks for playing along with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC)!
